Pre-K For All

About the Program

The Pre-Kindergarten For All Program is a quality program five days a week that is open to Y members and the community. We focus on developing children by providing a safe, nurturing environment where they are intellectually, socially, and physically stimulated while participating in enriching and fun activities.

Children will be taught by highly qualified, certified teachers. The curriculum integrates learning centers with a theme-based approach to learning encouraging children to experiment, explore and pursue their own interests.

Pre-K For All is a partnership with the New York City Department of Education and is licensed by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Schedules

Pre-K For All runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM - 2:50 PM.

Lunch and afternoon snacks are provided at no cost. For more information about our extended hours programs, please contact our Early Childhood Director Lois Rothstein at lrothstein@ymcanyc.org or 718-551-9356.

MRS. LOIS

I have had a lifelong passion of working in the field of early childhood education. It is most important to me that my work with children fosters a positive sense of self-esteem as if children feel good about themselves at a very young age it is a “gift” that will guide them in their future successes.

Growing up in Flushing I attended Queens College where I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degree in Early Childhood Education graduating Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude. I have also had the honor to teach Early Childhood Education Classes and supervise student teachers at both LaGuardia and Queens College.

I am very well versed in the goals and standards of the New York City Pre-K for All curriculum and very much believe a mutually respectful partnership between the school and the families is key in a child’s growth in meeting their potential. When I am not at the school, I enjoy being with my family, traveling, reading, walking and  doing jigsaw puzzles.
