Child Care & Preschool

These classes are designed to prepare children for a school environment and are separate from the Early Childhood Program for ages 2-4.

Our curriculum is designed to promote the growth and development of the “whole child.” We believe in an active learning method curriculum in which teaching strives to involve students in the learning process more directly and where the motivation to learn is authentic. The program focuses on the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child as an individual and with a group. This program is intended to serve as a gateway to preschool. Our ultimate goal is that each child has a positive first school experience.

The Y offers three or four classes per week - Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays or Mondays - Thursdays from 9 AM - 12 PM each day. Sessions are 8 weeks. The program runs on the NYC Board of Education calendar. Drop off only.

Our Separation classes run from September 2023 - June 2024.

Payment
Payment is due before the 1st of the month prior to care. All payments made after the 15th are subject to a $25 late fee. There are no refunds or credits issued for missed days or holidays.

The YMCA Separation Enrichment Classes are available Monday - Thursday, 9 am - 12 pm in July and/ or August.

The separation classes are a child's first opportunity to independently participate in a peer community. The classes offer a variety of activities including art, science, math, and physical that help develop social skills, confidence, and independence.

Cost: $TBD/ month
