At the the Dodge YMCA, teens can work on leadership skills, prep for college, play a sport, and give back through programs designed for them. We’re committed to empowering youth around New York City, and many of our teen programs are free for qualified participants.

Leaders Club
(For 9th-12th Grade)
Thursday 4:30PM-6:00PM
This program provides club members with opportunities for leadership training, personal growth, community service, and social development. Young people meet on a weekly basis in a small group of peers and advisors to map out career and educational goals, seek information, and share experiences related to self-improvement.
Rowe Scholars
(For 9th-12th Grade)
Tuesday 4:30PM-6:00PM
High school students have the opportunity to participate in a workshop series on college prep and career readiness. Advisors provide guidance in navigating the intricacies of applying for college and preparing to join the workforce.
SAT Prep
(For 9th-12th Grade)
Wednesday 4:00PM-6:00PM
SAT Prep helps the student gains the confidence and skills necessary to climb to his/her top score.
Teen Night Out (TNO)
Saturday 5:00 PM-9:30 PM
Teen Night Out (TNO) is a new comprehensive youth development program offering free, fun, high-quality and youth-informed workshops, activities, and class options for youth ages 13-18 years old.
Offered at multiple YMCA locations TNO benefits all youth in our communities. Providing safe Saturday evening programming Teen Night Out connects youth with caring teen advisors for a variety of enrichment opportunities.
Why join? Teen Night Out provide opportunities for young people to:
- Access equipment, gyms, and amazing group classes
- Make friends, get involved, learn new skills, and feel a sense of belonging in a safe, inclusive space!
- Engage in Job training opportunities
- Each program is different and provide unique offerings - Y teens will help us decide offerings seasonally

Saturday Night Lights

Saturday Night Lights (SNL) is a youth development and violence prevention program that is aimed to provide free high-quality sports and fitness activity for youth ages 11-18. Saturday Night Lights in provided in partnership and funded by the Division of Youth and Community Development.
Saturday Night Lights provide opportunities for young people to:
Connect with coaches and caring adult on fitness and sports-based goals.
Engage in tournament play.
Attend evening programming year-round, Make new friends and teammates.
Earn opportunities to attend NBA sport events.
Apply for YMCA College and Post-Secondary Scholarships.

If you have a teen membership, you can come in to the Fitness Center during Teen Hours.
If you are a teen on a family membership, you can come on your own during teen hours. If you come with an adult who is part of your family membership, you can come anytime the Y is open.
Teen Fitness Orientation
To start your teen’s fitness experience off on the right foot, we require a teen orientation to teach gym etiquette, the proper use of equipment, and to work out in a safe manner. Consultations are provided to new teen members and teen program participants. Please contact Oliver Lopez, Sports & Healthy Lifestyles Director, at olopez@ymcanyc.org to schedule an orientation.
Group Exercise Classes
The Y offers many group fitness classes each week, free for Y members and Teen Center participants. Find a class that works for you, drop in, and start working out!
Swim
Swim Lessons
Teens can learn to swim, improve their skills, or join a youth swim team. Swimming programs are not part of the Teen Center.
