The Bedford Stuyvesant YMCA is seeking a Managing Mentor who will support teens in their journey to master tech and media skills, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the instruction and mentorship provided by the Tech and Media Lab Instructors.

  • Collaborate with the Program Director to ensure alignment with program goals.

  • Provide individualized mentorship to teens, focusing on their personal and academic development.

  • Assist in the coordination and execution of special events and showcases.

  • Foster a sense of community and inclusion within the lab.

  • Maintain safety and security of equipment and software in the media lab.


Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Youth Development, or a related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Experience in mentoring or youth development programs.

  • Familiarity with technology and media education.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
