Room and board are not provided for Day Camp but are provided for Sleepaway Camp. Camp Dates
The summer camp season begins early July and ends in late August. Staff development is mandatory and training dates vary by location. Specifics will be provided as part of the interview process.

Summer Camp Positions
The Day Camp Director is responsible for the overall leadership of the day camp program, including supervision of staff and volunteers, fiscal management and day-to-day operations. The Day Camp Director is charged with ensuring the delivery of quality programming, which includes all Y and funder program elements. The Day Camp Director is expected to develop and maintain effective relationships with Y staff, school partners, funders, donors, care givers, community members, and other organizations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a program area related to working with youth
- At least two years of experience managing a high volume day camp and supervising staff
- Day Camp Director Y-USA training and certification is mandatory
The Day Camp Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership, oversight and support, in order to ensure quality program execution. Through strong Branch, staff, family and community and family relationships, the Day Camp Coordinator will work towards accomplishing the camp’s vision and goals.
Qualifications:
- Must be 20 years of age or older
- At least two years of college/university education in a program area related to working with youth
- At least two years of experience working with youth, preferably in a camp setting; previous supervisory experience is preferred
The Day Camp Unit Leader is responsible for providing leadership, oversight and support to one of the summer camp units, and in order to ensure quality supervision and program execution.
Qualifications:
- Must be 20 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent with college credits desired
- At least two years of experience working with youth, with supervision experience preferred
- Must be prepared to go into the pool!
The Day Camp Counselor plays a critical role in the successful operation of the Summer Day Camp program. The Day Camp Counselor is responsible for providing a safe and positive environment for school age children, to provide opportunities for learning, interaction and academic/personal growth.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum one year of experience working with youth
- Must be prepared to go into the pool!
The Day Camp Specialist is responsible for planning and executive recreational or arts activities and providing overall supervision to campers. Specifically, the Day Camp Activity Specialist will prepare and provide age-appropriate fine or performing arts, sports, or STEM instruction for participants in Summer Day Camp.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college credits and formal education in specialty preferred
- At least two years of experience working with youth, specifically in the area of specialty
- Formal certification in area of specialty required
