The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a Director, Analytics & Impact who will serve as a strategic partner to the organization, leveraging data analytics, Salesforce, and a portfolio of system solutions to drive insight and impact. This role requires someone who can work independently, think critically, and maintain a high standard of accuracy and quality in all analytical outputs. The Director will develop a deep understanding of the organization’s operations and data architecture, transforming complex data into actionable information. Responsibilities include fostering the adoption of analytical rigor throughout the organization by designing and maintaining metrics, dashboards, and reports across multiple sources; producing clear documentation; and providing meaningful interpretations of trends and performance drivers to support the Y’s mission to empower youth, improve health, and strengthen community.This role is intended for someone with experience in non-profit programming, impact measurement, and evaluating complex questions through data. The Director, Analytics & Impact will oversee the Tableau and Snowflake ecosystem, lead the continual development, evolution, and implementation of the organization’s strategic reporting, monitor organizational KPIs to inform decision-making and strategic priorities, and lead other analyses and projects as needed to support the organization’s mission. By modeling analytical rigor and strategic thinking, the Director will champion innovation and elevate impact measurement across program and service areas. The ideal candidate brings a proactive mindset, strong judgment, and a commitment to producing accurate, reliable, and actionable insights.Key Responsibilities:Strategic leadership and insight generationSupport the organization’s analytics strategy by translating complex questions into clear, actionable insights that inform decision-making and strategic priorities.Serve as a thought partner to stakeholders, proactively identifying trends, risks, and opportunities through data.Drive the monitoring of organizational KPIs through actionable dashboards, insights, and proactive support Analytical execution and quality assuranceDesign, build, and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reports that deliver accurate, timely, and meaningful information across all departments, including, but not limited to, membership, programs, and marketing. Address ad-hoc reporting requests in a timely manner.Lead evaluation of external databases and sources (ex. Census) to identify measures for cultural/socio-economic trends, provide operational insights and trends to branches and departments to help inform decision making.Conduct rigorous analysis with a high standard of accuracy, including validation, quality checks, and clear documentation of methods.Transform raw data into compelling narratives, visualizations, and recommendations that support program evaluation and impact measurement. Data systems and architecture stewardshipOversee the Tableau and Snowflake ecosystem, ensuring reliable, scalable, and well-governed analytics infrastructure.Manage and optimize the use of Salesforce and other system solutions to support data integrity, reporting, and operational efficiency in collaboration with the data analystsDevelop a deep understanding of the organization’s data architecture and ensure consistent data definitions, standards, and documentation. Organizational influence and capacity buildingLead the annual development of the organization’s annual reports and impact benefit documentation, synthesizing data across programs and service areas.Champion innovation in analytics, introducing new methods, tools, and approaches that elevate impact measurement.Build data literacy across teams by coaching staff, modeling strong analytical practices, and promoting a culture of accuracy and insight-driven decision-making.Manage overall training agenda for the Research, Evaluation & Strategy department to ensure analytics training needs of the organization are met with a focus on Tableau and SalesforceActively collaborate with SVP and VP, RES, on Organizational Data StrategyActively participate in and support training sessions, designated meetings, and special events. General ResponsibilitiesManage projects and priorities independently, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality analytical products with minimal oversight.Manage external consultants and stakeholders, as necessaryDesired Skills & Experience:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. Master’s degree in data analytics, statistics, public policy, social sciences, information systems, or a related field preferred.Three (3) or more years of experience in analytics, research, data strategy, or impact measurement, ideally within a nonprofit, social impact, or mission-driven environment.Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively within a team, provide leadership, manage complex projects, and deliver high-quality work.Proven experience transforming complex data into clear insights, narratives, and recommendations that inform strategy and decision-making.Strong proficiency with Tableau (or other BI tool) and Excel, including experience managing or optimizing analytics ecosystems.Snowflake and Salesforce experience is desirable.Deep understanding of best practices for ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability.Experience developing KPIs, dashboards, and performance measurement frameworks that support organizational learning and impact.Exceptional attention to detail, with a track record of rigorous quality control, documentation, and validation of analytical outputs.Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and influence decision‑makers.Collaborative mindset with the ability to build relationships across teams while modeling analytical rigor and a culture of data-driven learning.Commitment to the mission and values of the Y, with an understanding of community-based programming and impact measurement.Benefits:The YMCA of Greater New York offers a variety of benefits to its staff members, including retirement benefits, medical benefits, paid time off, free YMCA membership, and more!
