At the Y, teens can work on leadership skills, prep for college, play a sport, and give back through programs designed for them. We’re committed to empowering youth around New York City, and many of our teen programs are free for qualified participants.

Teen Center
Ages 12-17
The Castle Hill YMCA provides young people with a safe space to socialize, seek support and participate in activities that build self-esteem, prepare them for higher education and success as an adult. Through the various programs and workshops, our goal is to empower, inspire and teach young people to be leaders. As part of the Youth & Family department, the Teen Center works to build the developmental assets of young people as they transition into adulthood.

Leadership & Civic Engagement
Leaders Club
Ages 12-17
You can meet many of tomorrow’s leaders today in our leadership incubation program that gives teens the opportunity to improve their leadership and social skills, while giving back to the community. Teens meet on a weekly basis in small groups to develop and implement projects aimed at providing valuable service to their local community.
Teens Take the City
Ages 12-18
Teens Take the City is a civic engagement program focused specifically on NYC government and fostering community organization skills.
College Access & Career Readiness
Rowe Scholars
The Rowe Scholars Program is the YMCA of Greater New York’s signature college access and success program. Rowe scholars are given comprehensive, year-round services designed to ensure that they enter high school prepared to thrive, graduate on time, and enroll in college prepared to succeed.

Fitness & Sports
Teen Fitness Orientation
Ages 12-17
To start your teen's fitness experience off on the right foot, we require a teen orientation to teach them gym etiquette, the proper use of equipment, and to work out in a safe manner. Stop by the Member Services Desk to register.
Youth Basketball League
Ages 13-18
The Castle Hill Y's basketball league emphasizes the importance of having fun and playing basketball, while developing athletic and social skills, improving educational performance, and learning about healthy lifestyles.
Tae Kwon Do
Ages 13+
Learn basic punches, strikes, blocks, and kicks while gaining focus, strength, and coordination. Tae Kwon Do at the YMCA is about teamwork, respect, and patience.
Soccer
Ages 12-16
Students learn how to become comfortable with maneuvering, passing, kicking, and scrimmaging in our soccer classes.
YUSC Soccer Club
Ages 6-14
This program is perfect for players looking for a more competitive soccer environment with three weekly practices and small-sided games to enhance player development. Training focuses on skill development while learning the fundamentals and proper technique in passing, dribbling and shooting.

Swim
Our progressive swim program has six levels designed to help swimmers grow personally and develop strokes and safety skills. Emphasis is on endurance, personal safety, skill development, and life-saving techniques.
Summer Camps
YMCA teen camps are designed to immerse campers in fun activities that keep them active, learning, and engaged during the summer months. Teen campers participate in hands-on programming geared towards building self-confidence as well as activities designed to engage teens in developing educational and career goals. Campers go on field trips, and participate in swimming, dancing, singing, sports and more!
