Thursday, December 3rd | 6 - 8 PM Please join us on Thursday, December 3rd for a virtual fundraiser for Castle Hill YMCA. All proceeds from the event will go directly towards ensuring the YMCA is able to continue providing vital programs and services to the Bronx Community. The YMCA has been particularly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, but we have worked tirelessly to shift our programs to best serve the evolving needs of our beloved community. A few noteworthy programs include remote learning hubs, virtual fitness classes, and virtual after school programs. Our mission of building a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all is now more important than ever. We hope you will choose to support us in a fun-filled evening during what we know has been a challenging time for many. Fund an Immediate Need Help us sustain our programs and services that support youth, teens, and families in the Bronx community. Our goal is to raise $100,000, which would directly provide: The YMCA After School Program A hybrid program with virtual and socially-distant after school care for children who need a safe, clean, and productive environment to visit after school. The YMCA staff provide academic support, emotional learning, and activities to increase students' interest in STEM. The program partners with local schools to identify families who can benefit from free programming services offered daily. Give Teens Take the City Remote civic engagement programs educating teens about our democratic system and the policies that impact them directly. As students progress through the program, they are tasked with developing strategies to implement policy change. At the conclusion of the program, teens visit City Hall to present their policy change, teaching them the importance of self-advocacy and leadership. Contribute Outdoor Fitness Classes & Virtual Workout The Castle Hill YMCA offers outdoor fitness classes & virtual workout for the Bronx community. Wellness should not be a privilege, and an important part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle during these uncertain times is staying active. The Y offers spin, Zumba, kickboxing, and more classes in a safe outdoor environment.
