Through our talented staff and “LEAP” career framework (Leadership, Empowerment, Accountability, Personal Growth), we are committed to a people-first approach that fosters trust, inclusion, growth, and development for all.The Staten Island YMCA – Counseling Service is seeking a Youth Counselor who, under the supervision of the Program Director, will be responsible for providing care to a designated caseload, including provision of direct individual, group and family sessions. The incumbent will also be responsible for coordination of specialized program services and case management of caseload.Key Responsibilities:Facilitate sessions and clinical activities including, but not limited to, outreach/engagement activities, screenings, assessments, group, individual, family, crisis intervention, coordination of care, required reporting, case management and referrals.Conduct screenings, assessments, treatment planning, discharge planning, and determine appropriate level of care.Participate in diagnosis, treatment plan, progress note and clinical documentation development in consultation with clinical supervisor, as needed.Manage census administration, retention of cases, family support, fee collection, and outreach presentations.Coordinate care for designated caseload, including completing ongoing reporting, outreach, referrals, and collaborating with professionals working with the caseload.Participate in team meetings, individual and group supervision, community coalition meetings and identified training opportunities.Conduct urine & saliva toxicology drug screens.Maintain contract and regulation compliance, fulfill clinical standards and best practices and all related documentation.Serve as Manager-On-Duty and/or alternate clinician when necessary.Serve as task supervisor to interns/volunteers when appropriate.Will provide guidance to the staff in the absence of an on-site supervisor, when requested.Actively participate in training sessions and designated meetings.Desired Skills & Experience:CASAC-T, CASAC Provisional, CASAC (any level) required. MHC, MSW, MFT, MHC-LP, MSW-LP, MFT-LP, LMSW, LMHC, LCSW preferred.Minimum two (2) years of treatment experience.Knowledge of the criminal justice system, treatment court, and Child Welfare Systems.Knowledge of motivational interviewing and trauma informed care.Knowledge of mental health, CBT and other evidence-based treatment modalities.Bilingual preferred.Benefits:The YMCA of Greater New York offers a variety of benefits to its staff members, including retirement benefits, medical benefits, paid time off, free YMCA membership, and more!
