A Magical Evening at The Met
Ys Works 2023: A Year of Impact
We held our annual Heroes of New York Gala on June 15 for the first time at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Together, we raised $1.35 million for the Y Rowe Scholars program, our free college and career access program serving NYC grades 9-12 public school students. The evening could not have been such a success without our donors’ company and generous support.
We are thrilled to have hosted this legacy event in such a magnificent space, with special performances by award-winning artist Leslie Odom Jr. and legendary DJ Grandmaster Flash who brought the house down. We want to extend a special congratulations to our 2023 Dodge Award honorees, The New York Mets and Citi, and YMCA Order of the Red Triangle awardees, Raymond Yu and the Yu Family.
In celebration of 25 years of philanthropic partnership with the von der Heyden family, we also recognized this year's von der Heyden Scholarship recipients, Ryan La Barrie and Kimberly Navarette.

A Beautiful Day on the Green
Ys Works 2023: A Year of Impact
We are grateful to everyone who joined us on July 24 for the YMCA of Greater New York Golf & Gala, held at the prestigious Westchester Country Club. It was the perfect summer day to play some golf, eat delicious food, and enjoy a hilarious set from comedian Chris Redd, all while supporting thousands of NYC youth. With $725,000 raised for Y youth and teen programs, the Y is able to continue our crucial work in providing free services like afterschool care, college and career support, and civic engagement programs.

To a Brighter Future for Women and Girls
Ys Works 2023: A Year of Impact
In September, we held our Women’s Leadership Luncheon to support and expand opportunities for young women and girls who participate in the Y's Youth Programs. Fashion pioneer, author, and activist Aurora James joined Karis Durmer, President at Versace Americas and YGNY Board Member, in a powerful conversation about economic equity, inclusion, and critical issues impacting the lives of women and girls. We are incredibly proud to empower young women like Y Teen Leader alum Zakhro Kahkramonova, who shared how the Y has encouraged her to be her authentic self.
Celebrating You: Chair's Round Table
Ys Works 2023: A Year of Impact
Our annual Chair’s Round Table event was an opportunity to celebrate our donors’ impact on the lives of the New Yorkers who need us most. We are thankful to Yvonne Bruno, Y Volunteer, and Jessica Perez, New Americans Initiative participant, for sharing their incredible stories that left us all touched by their personal journey with the Y.
