YMCA Weight Loss Program

Learn how to eat healthier, move more, and lose weight with the YMCA's Weight Loss Program. No gimmicks no restrictive approaches — just the tools you need to achieve your wellness goals.

This program will provide strategies to incorporate nutrition and physical activity into your lifestyle, keep you motivated, and address the obstacles and pitfalls that make losing weight, and keeping it off, a challenge. You'll meet weekly with a small group for one hour in a classroom. This supportive network will help when the going gets tough and celebrate success along the way.

21-Day Food Revolution

Take the journey to feeling better and having more energy with the 21-Day Food Revolution. This program will focus on strengthening your plant-based eating habits. The more you incorporate plant-based eating into your life, the more you will experience its benefits, including weight-loss, clear skin, a sharper mind and healthy digestion. Form a new eating habit that will transform the way you eat and live.

Cost for four weeks of classes:

One-on-One Nutritional Counseling Packages

Proper nutrition is vital to a healthy lifestyle and our certified nutritionist can provide you with strategies for healthy eating. Proper nutrition can help you increase your energy, lower your blood pressure and cholesterol and help with weight management and weight loss to ensure that you meet your individual health and wellness goals.

New Member Orientation

New to the Y? We offer a FREE fitness orientation with one of our staff for all new members as an introduction to our cardiovascular and strength training equipment. Orientations are scheduled by visiting the Fitness Center Office. Please stop by to make an appointment.


Personal Training 

Take your fitness to the next level! We offer personal and small group training for all ages, abilities, and fitness levels, as well as specialized programs for NYPD or FDNY training, teens, sports-specific, teens, seniors, and survivors.

Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program

The YMCA’s Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring program supports adults with hypertension in lowering and managing their blood pressure. The four-month program focuses on practicing home self-monitoring of blood pressure readings and individualized nutrition education for better blood pressure management.

Develop strategies for healthier eating habits and controlling blood pressure through diet, and learn about triggers that elevate blood pressure levels while working to reduce your blood pressure and reducing risk for heart attack or stroke.


  1. Four-month program with two personalized consultations per month and monthly nutrition seminar
  2. For adults 18 years or older 
    • Diagnosed with high blood pressure and/or are on antihypertensive medication 
    • Have NOT experienced a recent (within the last 12 months) cardiac event 
    • DO NOT have atrial fibrillation or other arrhythmias currently 
    • DO NOT have or are at risk for lymphedema

LiveSTRONG at the YMCA

A free program for adult cancer survivors to achieve their holistic health goals, LiveSTRONG at the YMCA offers a personalized physical activity and well-being program and provides a supportive community. 

Participants work with Y staff trained in supportive cancer care to safely achieve goals related to strength, flexibility, and endurance while building confidence. By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, LiveSTRONG at the YMCA helps people move beyond cancer in spirit, mind, and body.


  1. 12 weeks with two 60 minute sessions a week
  2. For adults 18 years or older
    • Requires referral and medical clearance from physician
  3. FREE for YMCA members
