The Broadway Y offers exercise classes led by trained, responsive, and fun instructors. Try spin, bootcamp, yoga and Pilates, barre, water aerobics, and more. Classes are free for Y members, so check the schedule, drop into a class, and start working out.


We build strong families through fitness. Kids ages 12 and older are welcome to join our free group fitness classes with parental consent or parental participation.

Cardio

Boot Camp
An efficient circuit training workout that challenges your entire body, utilizing calisthenics such as pushups, jumping jacks, crunches and other body weight exercises.

Cardio Circuit
This efficient and challenging form of cardio training uses a variety of exercises and workout stations.

Cardio Sculpt
A cardio and conditioning workout that will keep your heart rate up, tone your body and improve core strength using equipment such as dumbbells and gliding discs. Be ready for a variety of cardio drills and routines.

Drums Alive®
Using rhythm as the source of inspiration, Drums Alive® combines the benefits of a traditional physical fitness program along with the positive benefits of music and rhythm.

HIIT & Express HIIT
High-intensity interval training (HIIT) combines high speed, high intensity work with recovery periods to improve your conditioning and speed up your metabolism.

Insanity®
Work out in 3 to 5 minute blocks, and take breaks only long enough to gulp some air and get right back to work. Keep your body working at maximum capacity and keep pushing your limits – so your body has to adapt.

Interval Training
High intensity cardio alternated with recovery periods of lower cardio intensity.

POUND®
POUND® is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics and isometric poses.

Spin®
A great cardio workout of simulated road bike riding to energizing music. The instructors will lead you on a ride designed to improve fitness of all levels.

Spin classes are free for Y members, but you can register for a fee for eight weeks at a time to make sure your seat is reserved!

Strength and Conditioning

AB PAK
A 45 minute class. Intense, fast-paced, core concentrated exercise environment.

Abs & Arm Tone-Up
This class focuses on total body-abdominal, back core muscles, arms, shoulders and chest to improve the body’s overall functional strength. 

Interval Training
Supercharge your fitness with this challenging class of high speed, high intensity work alternated with recovery periods of low intensity.

RIPPED
Combined resistance interval power polymetrics, endurance and core. Designed to help everyone meet their ultimate fitness goals in a super fun group class.

Total Body Conditioning
A full body workout designed to strengthen and tone the upper and lower body using hand-held weights.

Yoga, Pilates, and Stretch

Chair Yoga 
A yoga class that integrates postures, breathing exercises, relaxation, and meditation to stretch, strengthen, and condition all from the comfort of a chair. 

Gentle Yoga
Designed to teach basic yoga postures that will enhance flexibility, strength and balance and promote relaxation. 

Moving with Martin
This low impact exercise routine will benefit your health by stretching and strengthening your muscles, reducing stress and lowering your blood pressure. It’s a gentle early morning warm-up that will incorporate deep breathing exercises, low impact aerobics, calisthenics and yoga. These exercises are designed to stretch all your major muscle groups and improve endurance, strength, flexibility and balance. 

Pilates Mat
Based on original Pilates techniques, this class is designed to restore muscular balance, improve posture, helps prevent injury and build strength and flexibility.

Qigong
Qigong combines slow, deliberate movements, meditation and breathing exercises. It involves posture, breathing techniques and mental focus. The gentle rhythmic movements of Qigong reduce stress, build stamina, increase vitality and enhance the immune system. 

Tai Chi (T’ai Chi)
A complete health and martial-art system that combines stretching, strength and balance exercises, graceful movement, breathing techniques, self-defense and meditation.

Vinyasa Yoga
Flowing sequences of yoga poses linked together by an emphasis on breathing technique.

Dance and Zumba

Barre Fusion
Barre Fusion is a total body conditioning program that blends classical ballet exercises and Pilates with a special focus on core fitness. Enjoy a fun, invigorating workout that develops muscular endurance, dynamic balance, flexibility and of course, core strength. 

SOCA
A high-intensity dance fitness class fused with African dance, African music, West Indian dance and Soca music!

Zumba®
A fusion of Latin and International music, this class utilizes dance themes in a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt.

Water Aerobics

Are you already fit and want an intense workout, reaching a plateau in your current program, or looking for a great way to get in shape? We offer a variety of options in water fitness so it is easy to find a class that fits your individual needs. These classes are usually free for Y members, and available for 8-week sessions for the community.

Water Exercise
A great introduction to water fitness, perfect for beginners – easy on the joints, easy to follow, and lots of fun!

AOA Cardio Conditioning
A gentle aerobic workout especially for active older adults (AOA), or anyone who would like to include a low-intensity, low-impact workout in their fitness plans.

AOA Sit Fit
Get fit while you sit in this chair exercise class that involves a combination of aerobic activity, strength building and stretching.

Chair Yoga
A gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting in a chair or standing using the chair for support.

Gentle Yoga
