The Chinatown YMCA is seeking a Program Director who, under the supervision of the Youth & Family Director, will be responsible for managing the COMPASS program at P.S. 126. This includes the overall development, administration, supervision, and evaluation of the COMPASS program. The Program Director will focus on maintaining a quality program while raising additional funds to expand the program to meet the needs of the community.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for fiscal, government contract, foundation, and corporate grant management.Responsible for grant writing. Ensure compliance with existing funding sources as well as potential funding sources.Meet or exceed all contract requirements. Plan and create new and innovative youth and family programs that meet the needs of the community in accordance with the branch’s priority objectives and strategic plan.Work collaboratively with branch staff to develop new programs.Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff according to YMCA policies and best practices.Develop and grow community partnerships and create and track a resource referral system for youth and families.Represent the branch at necessary program cabinets (i.e., YAS, Teen).Successfully maintain and improve the quality of all Youth and Family programs.Become a certified trainer in at least one (1) youth area and lead training events.Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings, and special events.Adhere to all Department of Health, YMCA of Greater New York, and funder standards, expectations, and regulations.Desired Skills & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, or a related field or equivalent work experience required. Master’s degree preferred.One (1) to two (2) years of experience supervising community-based youth programs and experience developing programs.Knowledge of developing and administering youth programs and staff supervision.Knowledge of contract management and grant writing.Knowledge of AS400, budgeting, and public policy is a plus.CPR/First Aid or RTE Trainer preferred.Benefits:The YMCA of Greater New York offers a variety of benefits to its staff members, including retirement benefits, medical, paid time off, free YMCA membership, and more!
