World Volleyball Training Center

For Girls, Ages 10-17

July 15-July 20, 2018 or July 22-July 27, 2018

Come train with the best! Our World Volleyball Training Center offers athletes the opportunity to develop individual and team skills. Led by Hazel Goldstein, director of Whoosh Volleyball in Port Jervis, NY, this internationally-recognized camp is dedicated to transform players into champions.

Upon arrival, athletes are individually evaluated by our world-class coaching staff and receive a personal training regimen. Each day consists of three training sessions plus an evening video or activity.

Outside of the gym, athletes are cared for by our YMCA-trained summer camp counselors and are welcome to enjoy our beautiful thousand-acre camp. Athletes can cool off in our lake, take a ride through the woods on horseback, go on a hike, take a shot at archery, be creative with arts and crafts and more.

Best of all, the YMCA teaches all who participate in our World Volleyball Training Center to be socially responsible, respectful to others, build lasting relationships and grow in an environment filled with care and support. It’s a transformational experience for all who participate!

Our 18,000 square foot field house is fully equipped with six volleyball courts with 40′ ceilings, 10′ sliding Plexiglas windows and sport court flooring.  Additionally, athletes have access to locker rooms, a professional training room, and fitness facility.

Five professionally lined and treated grass courts provide an opportunity to move training outdoors, when appropriate.

Coaching Staff

Christopher Feliciano, Head Coach at Division I Rider University and 2015 MAAC Coach of the Year, leads an experienced and dedicated coaching staff. He is joined by Hazel Goldstein, director of Whoosh Volleyball in Port Jervis, NY and Commissioner of the Iroquois Empire region of USA Volleyball.  All our coaches are background- checked, trained professionals certified by USA Volleyball.

Health & Wellness

Hard-working athletes need healthy meals to maintain top physical condition. Meals are prepared with fresh ingredients by our expert staff, with an emphasis on fresh fruits and vegetables, whole wheat pasta and breads, zero trans fats and lean meats.  Our kitchens are nut free and we are happy to accommodate special dietary needs.

The health center at Greenkill is designed to provide a warm, nurturing environment for campers, whether they are paying a quick visit to get a band-aid or staying overnight due to a contagious illness. Our health staff manages camper medical records with care and expertise, administer over the counter and prescription medication according to physician- and parent-approved plans, and offer on-site care for all minor injuries and illnesses.  The health center is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by a certified nurse or EMT. Our Health Director, a registered nurse with many years of camp experience, provides on-site supervision to our health staff between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM, and on an as needed basis at night. Numerous members of the staff at each of our three camps are certified in CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Advanced First Aid.

Our field house included a professional training room staffed by a full-time, certified athletic trainer.

We know how important a comfortable, good night’s sleep is for a successful athlete. Our dormitories provide a great space to relax, enjoy the view and hang out with friends. Wake up each morning refreshed and ready to achieve new goals!   Each of our dormitories offers:

  • Shared bathrooms on each wing, with private showers and changing areas
  • Airy and bright lounge featuring an inviting fireplace, game tables, comfortable sofas and an outdoor deck.

We do not provide linens or towels.  Please remember to bring twin sheet sets, pillows and blankets or sleeping bags for campers.

When not training, athletes can enjoy a range of traditional camp activities including swimming, canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, arts & crafts, archery, hiking, low and high ropes, and special evening activities.  New York YMCA camp staff supervise campers in the dorms at night and during recreational activities.

Why three tiers?

Why three prices?  The NY YMCA Camp recognizes that families in different circumstances have differing abilities to pay.  While Tier 1 reflects the true cost of camp, families may opt to pay tier 2 or tier 3, if those rates better fit their family budget.  This is an honor system.  No additional documentation is required.  For families needing additional assistance beyond Tier 3, camp scholarships are available.  Please click here for more information re: financial assistance.
