Outdoor Education

The Greenkill Outdoor Education Center provides enriching programs for students through a holistic approach that tailors each trip to a school’s specific needs, grade level, and learning style. Whether you are a school that has been coming for 20 years and want to preserve a long-standing tradition, or a brand new group hoping to create a novel, compelling and educational experience for your students, we are happy to work with you to design the perfect trip.

We take our middle schoolers to Greenkill every year.   Years after they graduate, they tell us that the Greenkill trip is one of their top memories of school.

Located six miles north of the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania border (and just 90 miles from NYC), Greenkill serves schools and organizations throughout the northeast. We are perfectly located to feel like a true getaway, while still being convenient to our surrounding metropolitan areas. Greenkill is also the perfect size–large enough to accommodate big groups (up to 300), but small enough to provide a warm and comfortable experience for our guests.

Greenkill’s staff of Naturalists are professional educators who use experiential and hands-on learning to foster a closer relationship with nature. Students work with the same instructor throughout their stay, but take “classes” in topics as diverse as Environmental Sciences, Local History, Outdoor Living Skills, and Challenge and Adventure-based Team Building. Check out our curriculum page for a full list of our program offerings.
